Cattle may safely graze

This morning Alex and I went to an informational meeting for students with kids at the University Centre. The University Centre is an eyesore of a building. The 1970s Soviet style architecture is entirely out of place among some of the most beautiful buildings in the world. For those of you familiar with Chicago's UIC campus, think of University Hall, metal and concrete and windows and ugly as sin.

Just as I was locking our cycle to a fence along the river Cam, I noticed a funny site. Right across the river, in the green space in front of Darwin College were cows. There were just about eight of them or so. Some were eating grass, some were resting, all were acting as if the city centre of Cambridge was the most normal place for cows to be. And apparently it is, students were walking around without a second thought. I was the only one who seemed to find the scene humorous.
